About Advancing India Online

Ideas, Tech & Trends Moving India Forward.

Advancing India Online is an independent technology publication written for readers in India. We cover the news, tools and decisions that actually affect how people here work, study, build and spend — in rupees, on the networks and devices that are genuinely in use.

We aim to be calm rather than loud. There is enough technology coverage designed to create urgency; we would rather publish fewer things and be right about them.

What we cover

Our coverage is organised into 11 sections:

  • News & Trends — Technology news and the trends shaping how India builds, works and connects.
  • AI Tools — Hands-on looks at AI tools, what they actually do well, and what they cost in INR.
  • Mobile & Apps — Phones, apps and the mobile-first habits of Indian internet users.
  • Tech Guides — Clear, practical explainers for the technology decisions you actually face.
  • Deals & Reviews — Considered reviews and genuinely useful deals, priced for the Indian market.
  • AI for Students — Using AI honestly and effectively through school, college and entrance prep.
  • AI for Freelancing — Building an independent income in India with AI-assisted work.
  • Cybersecurity — Scams, breaches, privacy and the defensive habits worth forming.
  • Software & Web — Software, the open web and the tools people build with.
  • How-To — Step-by-step walkthroughs you can follow start to finish.
  • Gaming — PC, console, mobile and esports — India's fastest-growing screen habit.

Editorial standards

These are the rules we hold ourselves to. They are published here so readers can hold us to them too.

Reporting and opinion are separated

Factual reporting and commentary are distinct things and we label them as such. Where a piece contains our judgement rather than established fact, it says so plainly in the text rather than in a disclaimer at the bottom.

Claims are attributed

Where a story relies on reporting, data or a document from elsewhere, we name the source and link to it. If we cannot attribute a claim, we do not make it.

Timestamps are accurate

Every article shows when it was published and, where relevant, when it was last updated. Both are real timestamps, shown in Indian Standard Time.

Corrections are visible

When we get a material fact wrong, we correct it and say so on the article itself. We do not silently rewrite a story to make an error disappear. Minor fixes such as typography are made without a note; anything that changes the meaning carries one.

We do not fabricate signals

We do not publish invented view counts, invented reactions, or “live” indicators that are not measuring anything. A story is only labelled breaking when an editor has made that judgement about real, developing news.

How we use AI

We use AI tools in our own workflow, and we are specific about where. AI-assisted drafts are always reviewed and verified by a person before publication — nothing is published automatically. We do not publish AI-generated images that a reader could mistake for a photograph of a real event, and any generated imagery we do run is abstract illustration built from our own brand geometry.

Political and current-affairs coverage

Where our coverage touches policy or politics, we report it neutrally. We do not endorse parties, candidates or campaigns, and we do not use our product surfaces — headlines, labels, section names — to editorialise.

Commercial relationships

Where an article contains affiliate links, a disclosure appears on that article. Any sponsored content is labelled as sponsored and did not go through our independent editorial process. Commercial relationships never determine what we cover or what we conclude, and we do not hide them.
